Emery base fluid esters are created from renewable raw materials. They offer value-add by providing high-performance properties like superior lubricity, excellent low temperature behavior and high viscosity index. Combined with environmentally-friendly characteristics, including good biodegradability and low aquatic toxicity, our esters are the right choice when formulating fluids for demanding drilling operations.
Emery's ester-based carrier fluids are used as an alternative to mineral oil and/or paraffin-based carrier fluid systems. The addition of Emery's patented esters can significantly lower the toxicity and improve the biodegradability of OBM systems. These esters significantly increases the polarity of a carrier fluid. Systems with higher polarity improve mud additive performance and economics. The increased polarity also provides a better lubricity coefficient and supports deviated well drilling operations.
Emery carrier fluids fully comply with the specifications of the EPA-NPDES regulations to meet market needs while being environmentally friendly. Emery's esters, which are created from renewable natural resources, facilitate high-performance drilling at up to triple the usual speed. Even when subjected to high pressure and extreme fluctuations in temperature, these Emery esters give drilling muds sufficiently low viscosity to ensure the greatest possible equipment safety, even in the case of high-speed drilling. In addition, our esters are rapidly biodegraded.
