U.S - EPA approval of Emery Oleochemicals’ EMERION™ 8000 C8910 reinforces commitment to innovations in natural-based chemicals

10 February 2014 - Cincinnati, Ohio: Emery Oleochemicals, the world’s leading natural-based chemical solutions provider, announced today that the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency has approved its EMERION™ 8000 C8910 Fatty Acid (FA) Blend, a high-performance natural-based solution which can be formulated into end-use pesticide products to repel and kill insects. Intended for use on livestock such as dairy cows, beef cattle, swine, poultry and horses; this blend marks Emery Oleochemicals’ first active ingredient offered by the company’s Agro Green business unit to be registered with the EPA.

Recognised as an effective, nontoxic and renewable alternative to conventional pesticides, the EMERION™ 8000 C8910 FA Blend’s unique composition interferes with the insect’s homing system (sensory disruptor) which in turn repels and kills stable flies, horn flies, house flies, ticks, cattle lice, mosquitoes, ants, roaches, bed bugs and fire ants. This product is part of the EMERION™ 8000 Series which offers products that are as equally effective as pyrethroids and organophosphates at reducing fly counts on livestock and are generally harmless to human beings.

The EPA approval serves as a testament to Emery Oleochemicals’ commitment to bringing natural, biodegradable and eco-friendly alternatives to conventional pesticides and comes on the heels of the recent awarding of the Organic Material Review Institute (OMRI Listed ®) certification - making Emery Oleochemicals the only natural-based chemicals manufacturing company to commercially offer OMRI Listed® Glycerine.
