Emery Oleochemicals Celebrates 125th Anniversary Milestone in Germany
Loxstedt, Germany (October 30, 2023) - The Emery Oleochemicals Group is proud to announce its 125-year anniversary of being in business in Germany. To commemorate this important milestone for the company, a celebration took place in Bremerhaven where Emery Oleochemicals GmbH first became established in 1898.
Founded to produce cod liver oil by the pharmacist, Oscar Neynaber, and the sailmaker, shipowner, and merchant, Friedrich Albert Pust, the company (originally known as ERSTE DEUTSCHE DAMPFLEBERTRANFABRIK PUST & NEYNABER) has grown significantly over the years through many technology and product innovations to become part of the Emery Group’s global natural-based specialty chemicals business.
Today, Loxstedt is the company’s European manufacturing site as well as home to its Technical Product & Development Center for Emery’s Green Polymer Additives Business Unit. With sales and marketing offices in Duesseldorf and Product & Application Development Labs in Monheim to support the company’s Bio-Lubricants Business Unit, Germany plays an important role in the contribution and success of Emery’s global business.
“From the beginnings as a small "Transiederei", or Tryworks, in Bremerhaven, through the creation of the LOXIOL® brand which made Loxstedt known to the world, to a company as part of a global joint venture with a wide range of products, there have been many successes and innovations that have supported the growth of our business as a leading specialty chemicals manufacturer,” said Mr. Joern Ellerbrake, General Manager and Site Manager at Emery Oleochemicals GmbH.
