EDENOL® 3490 - Highly effective moisture-resistant, compatibiliser and dispersing agent for Wood Plastics Composites
Wood Plastics Composites (WPC) are defined as composite materials that contain wood (in various forms) and thermoplastic material. WPC is already an established and still growing material in Europe particularly for automotive, garden decking and non-structural building applications, such as exterior window and door profiles.
Water absorption might have a bad effect on the end-product. Therefore Emery Oleochemicals developed a highly effective hydrophobic agent and compatibiliser for PVC formulations: EDENOL® 3490
Application:
Wood Fibre Plastics Composites based on PVC formulation.

Dosage: 1-5 phr. (depending on wood particle content)
EDENOL® 3490 is a liquid material and available in drum (200 kg) and IBC (900 kg).
The moisture levels of the compounds incl. EDENOL® 3490 have not exceeded 1.0 % over 9 months of exposure!

EDENOL® 3490 highly decreases the moisture absorption as well as thickness swelling!
In extrusion tests, EDENOL® 3490 drastically improves processing performance through the increased dispersion of wood and additives. Result: 15 % output increase!
